# Data caching and the workspace folder Your `workspace folder` also contains all of the settings for each data source you create, allowing you to close and re-open data sources without having to re-configure them each time. Caching the data locally also offers other benefits, including highlighting differences in the data when new data is retrieved. By default, your workspace folder will be configured to be: * **Macintosh**: Documents:EasyCatalog Workspace * **Windows**: My Documents/EasyCatalog Workspace ## Specifying a workspace folder The location of your workspace folder can also be changed - this can be anywhere on your local machine, provided that EasyCatalog always has access to it. See the `Application Preferences` chapter for further information on how to specify the EasyCatalog workspace folder. Once you have finished with a data source, it can be deleted using the `Delete` button from the Information dialog. To access the `Information` dialog, click the `info` button at the bottom of one of the data panels.
